Abishek was severely injured in a motor vehicle accident where the driver and front passenger died and later brought a third-party claim. Abishek’s first solicitors settled the claim for significantly less than it was worth, while also overcharging him in legal fees.  We assisted Abishek to, firstly, seek a costs assessment of the legal fees from his initial representation.  The Costs Assessor found their entitlement to fees to be worth $34,042.81 and issued a Certificate accordingly.  His first solicitors were found to have overcharged Abishek by over $100,000.00, or over 4 times what they were entitled to.

Prior to seeing us, Abishek spoke to 3 solicitors about his concerns of overcharging and the poor outcome negotiated by his initial representation.  Each said they could not help.

We then assisted Abishek in a successful professional negligence claim against his first representation, obtaining Judgment for $250,000.00, being the difference between what his claim was actually worth and what it had originally been settled for, plus party/party costs.
