Representing clients against multiple defendants

Mesud v GIO Workers Compensation (NSW) Ltd & Ors https://www.caselaw.nsw.gov.au/decision/549fda2b3004262463c03350

Mesud was a gyprock fixer, working on a large, city building site when he was injured by scaffolding being dismantled by other workers.  His claim for damages for negligence was complicated by the fact that his employer was one of several different subcontractors working on the same site at one time.  This meant three other subcontractors had to be identified, with an involved discovery process including the complication of Mesud’s employer going into liquidation.

We assisted Mesud to present his case to the Court and obtained a judgment in his favour in the sum of $1,834,643.75, which was apportioned between all 4 defendants.  This was appealed by the defendant(s), however the Appeal(s) were dismissed, with costs awarded to Mesud.
